| I missed an interview |

I was moving out and somebody (probably my children got that letter from INS and shoveled into my desk). I found it two weeks after the date. I sent letter to INS that explained the good cause and new address. It is already five months passed but I didn't get anything from them. Is it normal situation in my case?
My another question: what usually INS officer asks on interview if you go with political/religious/jewish case? Thank all who will answer.
