President Bush signs workplace verification bill to prevent hiring of illegal aliens
The Basic Pilot Extension Act of 2003, S. 1685, will extend for five years the voluntary workplace employment eligibility authorization pilot programs created in 1996. It also will expand the pilot programs from the original five states to all 50 states. The Senate and House have both passed this legislation to prevent the hiring of illegal aliens and President Bush signed it into law on December 3, 2003.

I've heard abput this. However, I don't think this law will change the situation much.
