hi everyone,
i need some information about green card. i came to usa in 96 and it'll be 6 yrs this august. i was adopted by american family, when i was 18. i have a social security number but it's not valid for employment, so i can't work until i guess i get a green card. some people have told me that i am going to have to get a sponsor for whom i'll work and then that'll help me get my green card and citizenship. does anyone know anything about what to do in this situation.

Adoption at 18?
This sounds a little strange, INS allows international adoption by age 16 only, not older...
Did you adoptive parents do any paperwork with INS?
If yes, you should have green card already and should be eligible for citizenship.
