| I-485 (Asylum based) will be processed at 2011, is that a joke? |

Mr. Kobrin,
I am in this country for 14 years, and applied for a political asylum in 1991, my long waiting time was finished by granting an asylum grant in 2001. In 2002 i applied for a green card, and found on INS web site that my processing time will be 2011. When can i apply for a citizenship then? In 2016?
I have old parents that i want to take living with me here in US, but their only chance to come and live in US is when i invite them as US citizen, correct? But by 2016 they may not be alive! What other ways to get my parents here legally?
Can my processing time be speed up somehow? Will writing to my senator help?
I put myself through college (never applied for any public assistance or government help) here and work and paid taxes for all these years. And now i so unwanted by this country. People win DVD lottery and get a green card within a year?
Is my situation so hopeless? Is there any way it could be improved?

Это письмо Вы направили абсолютно не по адресу. Я-то, как раз, полностью поддерживаю Вашу позицию, и ни один раз писал об этом на форуме.
Такие письма нужно слать президенту, всем подряд конгрессменам, иммиграционному начальству.
Вы себя сравниваете с победителями ДВ (не ДВД) лотереи. А Вы лучше сравните себя стаким же беженцем, только refugee, который получил такой же точно статус, как Вы, только находясь не в США, а в своей стране. Им дают гринкарту через ГОД.
