Dear Lev,
Several months ago I posted a question about my smarter than parents step-son who decided to go back to Russia without Advanced Parole and after being ther for a while has now decided that he made a bad decision and wants to come back to the USA.
I have checked and can't bring him back as he was 18 when he came with his mother. He is now 20 years old. I have to deal with the Memphis office of the INS and they have one of the slowest processing time in the country.
I want to bring him back and if I have to deal with the normal time line of Memphis he will be over 21 before his mother has a green card and can file a I-130. He will then have to come as an adult and we know that this can take up to 5 years.
You asked me then why I had not adopted him. I have decided that I can do this if it is possible.
What is the best way to do this. In Russia and then ask INS to give him a visa or what? I have no Idea of how to act in this situtitation.
I have no real Immigration lawyers within a couple of hundred miles of our home and have no idea of who might be worth there salt in the Nashville or Memphis area.
Your thoughts or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Roger

Response for: Roger at 4/3/2004 7:21:00 PM You can apply for HIS Advance Parole instead of him, and US CIS will send it to Russia/ Read carefully the I-131 Instruction. May be this would be better. Лев Кобрин - имя, которому верят!!!
