dear alla!!! my husband says that boston ( billerica is suburb of boston)MA is a cultured city. There is Harvard University ,and many theaters. It is true that there are a lot of black people , but you can live in a suburb. It is not problem. keep in mind there is a high cost of living in this part of the us. Good luck

Hey, I am working in Bellerica, MA Did not see any black poeple here. Though have couple of them at work and really like them. Bellerica, MA has no problems with black poeple, the biggest problem there is so called "white trush" , oi stidno mne za take slova.

Most of my friends are jewish, they love their lives here. A word of advice: your life will be easier if you leave your prejudice at home.

Black people in MA out of Greater Boston? Hard to find. -:) There are a couple of "funny" cities there too: Lowell and Lawrence, but there are not "black", but "yellow" ( Laos, Vietnam, etc.). Billerica is mostly "blue collar" and redneck town, but pretty quiet and close to "centers of civilization" like Burlington Mall, etc. Besides, there are bunch of jobs around there: Billerica in the hart of "East Cost Silicon Valley" ( or, at least, it used to be!).

Yep, I'd say one of the highest in US! But Boston area has a bunch of jews, however! For instance, Lynn isn't expensive and has big "russian speaking" community with Russian groseries, drug stores, doctors, etc. The other hand, there are a bunch of "hot" Hispanics there.

Thanks a lot for the advice, Sirena. But I didn't notice that I have ever had some prejudices or something else... Hmmm, it was only curiosity. Anyway, thanks:)

Dear Sveta, The more I read opinions of different people, the more I understand "Tastes differ" or "How many people how many customs". :) At least, now I understand what place is waiting for me :) Thank you a lot!

I have heard that food is not yummy in the USA, even though you get it in Russian stores... you get different taste of bread, milk and etc. Or these are only rumors?:)

Let's put it this way, unless you would like to be a model or actress your look does not matter much. Age? Maybe, but even this is not very important. The most important thing is your experience, preferably in US. Medical Degree in what field? Russian/Ukrainian medical degree is not recognized in States. In order to continuer your medical career (if you are MD), you will have to take a special exam. I would say it takes around one year of studying in order to pass this exam. Now teaching: Every public school requires its teachers to be certified by state. In order to get certified you will have to take a test in MA Department of Education. I do not know how complex this test is. My assumption is that it is not very hard to get certified. Again my question is what kind of teaching degree you have. Probably you can get teacher aid job; pretty easy, especially if your English is good. But this type of job does not pay well. I do not know about average salary in these areas. I would guess teacher aid is making around $18,000 per year; average teacher's salary is $45,000 per year. Economy is not particularly good right now, a lot of people are loosing their jobs, so I would say it is not the best time right now, but it was always pretty easy to find job in education (public schools, child care etc.). About food: It all depends on how much you are willing and able to spend on your food. You can find here basically everything, but like everything else you have to pay in order for your food to be tasty.

No Alla, I work in Billerica, but I do not like it and I do not live in Billerica. "White trush" - not educated people with out manners with all kind of problems lisuch as drinking, drugs etc. This is not the best town in MA.
