Dear friends!
Perhaps somebody is the same situation as me.
I applyed for H-1B on Februar, 2002. In a while received confirmation and - total silence from that time. In their cinfirmation they promised to make a decision in 60-90 days. there is almost 60 days delay from the last term. Their answering mashine still repeate the same massage - when they received my case.
Is is just thr results of 9-11 or they don't answer when your case is denyied?
Thanks for any response, sorry for mistakes - I don't have Phonetic keyboard layout here, at work and to write in English (even badly) is much easyier.

There is simple reason why it took so long for H1B1 in your case.
In Jan or Feb INS Headquarters sent requiring the security check on all applications.
The INS has special database> They always had it but never used it untill there was a reason to suspect that applicant has done something wrong in the past.
This security check became a nightmare because a lot of adjuticating officers didn't know how to do it.
They have spent almost an entire month for training. All that time almost no case was adjudicated.
Now, I believe they have some 120 days backlog.
It means they are now adjudicating cases filed in March and April.
No response is not always a bad sign.
Usually, before denial they send request for evidence. And if after you submit the evidence it takes a long time to get responce then it means something might be wrong.
So, relax. Only thing to worry about is who your petitioner is and who is your attorney.
If both are ok-then you have nothing to worry about.
Sorry about my English: my purpose was to give right answer for your particular question and I am sure I just did it.
It is amazing how ignorant most lawyers here are: most of them have no clue of what is going on in INS and etc. and can't even help you to relieve your worries.
So, my advise to you: go to www.shusterman.com and read for yourself.
They have all different subjects covered there.

Send them (INS) additional $1000 and you will receive your visa in a few weeks.is it worth after 5 month waiting to waste another gran?
